Investing in Youth: Niš Opens Free Summer Sports Schools for Thousands
The city of Niš invites local children to join professional training in tennis, swimming, and table tennis as part of a city-wide health initiative.
The City of Niš, in partnership with the "Čair" Sports Center, has officially launched its annual program of free summer sports schools. This initiative provides thousands of local children with the opportunity to receive professional coaching in several disciplines, including swimming, handball, tennis, and table tennis. The program aims to keep the youth active during the summer break while identifying the next generation of talent.
Local authorities emphasized that the schools are fully funded by the municipal budget, ensuring that financial barriers do not prevent any child from participating in high-quality training. The initiative has seen a record number of registrations on its first day, highlighting the community’s strong demand for structured, healthy activities. Professional coaches will lead the sessions in safe and modern facilities.
Beyond physical training, the schools include seminars on healthy living and teamwork. This positive model of social policy prioritizes the health and development of children, building a more vibrant community. The program will culminate in a city-wide youth tournament at the end of August, celebrating the progress made by all the young participants.
